This bug was reported on the ubuntu bug tracker under

When using KFind, I click on browse next to the "Look In" box. Via this window
I select Storage Media -> EXTHD which is a USB HD mounted at /media/sda1.

The select file window does not return "media:/sda1" but just "/sda1" so KFind
can't find the location in the system unless I manually type in the file
location.
The problem is reported with remote:/localserver -> /localserver, too.
