I've tracked it down to be the problem with multiple installed keyboard
layouts. When I use pl only it's just fine, but when I want to have several
layouts (pl, us, de) installed to choose from using Layout Switcher then none
of them work. That's because KDE seems to run setxkbmap -layout pl,de,us
instead of running setxkbmap -layout pl, -layout de or -layout us depending on
layout selected at the moment.
