In terms of usability I found a nice poll on
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=423648 with the following question:
"Should KControl replace System Settings in Gutsy?"

Result:
Yes            - 65.75%
No             - 30.14%
Other(Discuss) - 4.11%

Thus 65% prefer kcontrol over system settings. Even if the poll is a bit old,
it's an interesting result.

IMO usability issues should not be theoretical concepts but orientate at user
wishes.
