Summary: Cannot disable switching desktop with mouse wheel
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: ricardo.berlasso at gmail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
In openSUSE's kde 4.1.3 (but a user in the kde forum told me it is the same in
trunk), by rotating the mouse wheel over the desktop you can switch between
desktops. This behaviour is quite problematic when using a synaptics touchpad
in a laptop, because the probability of issuing a "scrolling event" (right side
of the touchpad) instead of moving the mouse pointer is high, leading to
unwanted desktop jumps. Problem is that this behaviour cannot be disabled:
there is no option to switch it off.
Features of this kind will never be complete without an option in desktop
settings to enable/disable them.
In fact, in my opinion, this option must be _disable_ by default, and only used
when the user really wants it.
Thanks.
