Summary: New Device notifier does not show whether devices are
mounted or not.
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: viking at f2s.com
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
The storage media applet in KDE3 distinguishes between mounted and unmounted
media with a green arrow on the icon when mounted.
KDE4 new device notifier does not distinguish in any way between mounted and
unmounted devices. This is a critical bug as removing mounted devices can
result in data loss or even irreversible damage to hardware.
It should be relatively easy to have the new device notifier indicate this
essential information, a green arrow when ANY of the media it knows about is
mounted would be perfectly adequate.
