And that's unfortunate because they don't look like buttons. And besides, they
only partially behave like buttons, and it may (and I hope it will) change in

With list or tree you are right, buttons are there, but with current layout
there is more resemblance to konqueror or dolphin than to buttons.

So, I say if we already have dolphin-like interface let's rather add
flexibility than downgrade it to something static.
