Summary: twinview: Only second of two "screens" connected not
                    treated as "primary"
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: kde stefan-neufeind de

Version: (using KDE 4.0.4)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

Using twinview (with nvidia 173.14.05) works fine in the case where two screens (internal on laptop plus external on DVI) are connected. I've configured my external DVI to be the primary one. Works.

When logging into KDE without the DVI-attached screen (only internal panel, so to say) I get in xdpyinfo:

name of display: :2.0
[...]
default screen number: 0
number of screens: 1

screen #0:
[...]

So that allows me to work, but I don't have access to the icons on my "primary" screen. But luckily taskmanager, launcher etc. is there as expected.

Not sure if that helps to diagnose: When entering KDE the nvidia-driver gives me a virtual resolution (dimensions of both screens added up) - so I need to pan right/left using the mouse. That however can be adjusted by calling "xrandr -s 1440x900". But still no icons ... I expect that's the case because KDE-desktop believes this is my "secondary" screen. However since I have taskmanager, launcher, ... at least some parts believe that this is the correct first screen to use, since there is only one present ... although it's name is :2.0, right?
