Summary: Thunderbird goes to 100% CPU and locks up in KDE. Works
ok in Gnome.
Product: kde
Version: unspecified
Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: kdemail jeo net
Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux
I just upgraded to OpenSuse 11.0. This problem also happened with KDE 4.0 but I thought
I's see if going to 4.1.0 fixed the problem. It didn't.
When running in the KDE 4.1.0 or 4.0 environments: After a few seconds of opening Thunderbird, all open Thunderbird (MozillaThunderbird-2.0.0.12-34.1) windows no longer respond. A process list shows the CPU utilization of Thunderbird at 99%. Selecting the "close" icon after a bit gets the KDE warning box stating that the application is no longer responding and asking if I'd like to "Terminate" the application.
I switched to Gnome to test and no longer get the lockups with Thunderbird. I don't know if this is a Thunderbird error or a KDE one, but the fact that the lockups only happen in KDE and not Gnome makes think the issue should be posted here.
