Well, I did find the right click on the panel to restore multi-desktops.
However, as far as I can tell, I have to blow away my account and
re-create it in order to restore focus-follows-mouse.  I have set
focus-follows-mouse-strict, but it has no effect.  And I have no idea why.
Yes, I ranted.  I do not like spending two days on what is normally a
two or three hour process.  Most of the issues seem to be unresolvable.
