           Summary: KDE3 programs don't inherit KDE4 colors
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: lightsolphoenix gmail com

Version: (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Basically, as you guys definitely already know, the method for storing colors changed between KDE3 and KDE4. Unfortunately, this is causing some problems with distributions who want to package the full KDE4 environment, but provide KDE3 programs to fill gaps where the KDE4 programs aren't quite ready yet. Due to the change in storing the colors, KDE3 programs almost always default to the Plastik colors - even if/when this clashes horribly with the KDE4 color scheme. As a result, I'm submitting this bug report on request from Fedora (the Fedora bug is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443343 ) to note that it might be a good idea to get the KDE4 color manager to write the colors to the [General] section of kdeglobals, as in KDE3. Obviously, this won't affect KDE4 programs in any way; however, this would cause proper inheritance of colors in KDE3 programs when both program classes are trying to use the same user directory.
