The KDE 3.5.5 release timing did not fit well with Umbrello due to a major rework which was still in progress.
(For further info, see bugs 135749, 136998, 136940, 129859, 135606, 137497, 137564.)

Works for me with KDE 3.5.6 (Umbrello 1.5.6)
