Hello,

Three years ago, I opened the bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54307 .
Now I have decided to apply the DIY (Do It Yourself) sentence :-)

So, I reused on the one hand the xmi-to-html.xsl from Objects By Design modified
by Oliver to work with Umbrello 1.4 and on the other hand, xmi2html, a script by
Farkas Tamas listed on the Umbrello page to produce a xmi2docbook converter, It
is absolutely not finished but results are already usable. I follow the
application of xmi2docbbok by docbook2html from
http://docbook.sourceforge.net/. You can look at the current results at
http://kleag.free.fr/xmi2docbook/graphics.html and download the styleshhets
from http://kleag.free.fr/xmi2docbook/xmi2docbook.tgz

Still to do: complete the export of all elements, design a good plan (the
current one is not very good), add graphical views of classes when available,
add the use of structure available in doc texts (if there is HTML of Doxygen
formating for example), create a better CSS for HTML, etc.

I'd like to integrate that to umbrello, in a File->Export->DocBook... and a
File->Export->HTML... menus (or in an additional Documentation menu ?). This
menu calls would open File dialog to chose the destination directory, export
all figures and call the necessary XSLT processors to do the transformation.
What do you think of that ?

I have a KDE SVN account. If you agree, I can do the import and the other
proposed changes. In this case, should I work on the KDE 3.5.x branch or in the
KDE4 trunk ?

Best regards,

Kleag
