Is that happening upon the first ever start of Umbrello, or had it been
working previously?
If the latter then try moving away the xmi file that Umbrello is trying
to load on startup. That done, if Umbrello starts up alright then the
xmi file is at fault.
If the former then it might be a basic problem with the exe; try
building from sources.
