Summary: folder names not preserved

Initial Comment:
sometimes, i can't quite figure out when or where it occurs, but folder 
names are not preserved on save/load. for example, i had created a 
bunch of folders in the view tree, saved it and then re-loaded it. all 
the folder names reverted to "folder". however, if i renamed them 
and repeated the save/load process, the names were restored 
correctly.
