Summary: composite states

Initial Comment:
I am using umbrello-1.1rc1 for Red Hat 7.3. There does
not seem to be a way to create nested substates in state
diagrams. This significantly reduces the expressive
power of statecharts.

In his book "Constructing the User Interface with
Statecharts", Ian Horrocks provides a very good
explanation of why simple state transition diagrams are
inferior to David Harel's statecharts, which is what the
UML state diagrams are based upon. Horrock's book:

Some example diagrams with nested substates:

Thanks for the otherwise wonderful tool.
