sorry.. been very bussy lately and I am still catching up with old mail....
I havent been able to update my copy and see the patch, but if the code is
working (that means, it imports old files fine) and you think there is no
need for "my filter" anymore, then go ahead an remove it. I have no problem
with that. (I never really liked thad code, just was trying to help with the
import, but I am for the best code, wether its mine or some one elses...I am
open in that aspect)

hey!!, stop!!
I think we should not mess around with the file format now!!!
these are my reasons:
1 - we are trying to stabilize and get a release out.. changing the file
format now doesnt get us closer
2 - there might be a lot of users working with current cvs code.. I know
importing a different XML file is not too much problem (nothing compared with
the nightmare of binary files) but stilll....
3- Even if changing the file format, We are not going to be 100% XMI anyways,
and we are are not going to be able to exchage data with ArgoUML or other
programs (simply for the reason that current XMI doesnt include diagram
information). So I would agree to add author / email information to the file,
since that is something very nice to have and since is XML, it will not break
old files or old copies of umbrello (they are simply not going to ask for
it, and are going to ignore it)
so: adding this kind of information, is ok
changing the filer format in a way it breaks things.. I would say no,

Information on the author.
-copyright
