[Uml-devel] Problems with bug-report dialog

Hi all,

I am working on a nice UML Modeller application for KDE called Umbrello,
together with a small group of developers, and we are now close to releasing
version 1.1, but there is a problem we haven't been able to solve:

The Bug-report dialog is not working:

1 - Selecting "Report bug" from the Help menu shows a dialog to send a
bug-report email, but pressing the "Send" button gives following error:
-----------
Couldn't send the bug report.
Hmmm, submit a bug report manually, sorry...
See http://bugs.kde.org/ for instructions.

there two things we dont understand here.... all of the other applications
show a dialog telling you to go to bugs.kde.org and fill out the bug report
there, but Umbrello shows the old, mail-based bug dialog, altough we are
linking against the KDE 3.0 libraries.... could someone explain why
Umbrello insists on using the old dialog?
we wouldn't really mind having the old dialog, if it only worked..., but this
dialog doenst seem to be configurable.

The other problem is that since (unfortunatelly) we are not part of the
official KDE distribution, we are not listed in bugs.kde.org so when the
users go there to report a bug they cannot find us.

Right now we are managing our bugs with the SourceForge tracker, so....

1 - is there a way to get the bug-report dialog to send the mail to our list
and not to some kde-mailing list (which is what it is trying to do, I guess)
??

2 - Why is Umbrello using the old dialog? (this is important because the new
dialog is useless to us, since it only points the users to bugs.kde.org, and
we are not there =(

3 - Is there a hook or something where we could replace the bug-dialog for a
dialog of our own (in case we cannot get the standard dialog to work, we
would need to at least show a dialog pointing the users to the right address)

thank you,

luis.

sorry.... I cannot resist the temptation of making some publicity, so if you
are interested in a very nice UML modeller application, check us out!
