I have succeeded, with some hacks, to set up an art collection system
using Tellico. I am delighted to be able to produce artwork labels, wall
labels (for the gallery wall>, price lists, catalog pages, etc. all
under control of css to have the typefaces and sizes I choose. This is a
great improvement on the system I have been using.
I realized while setting this up, that it must be equally possible to
generate web-pages! This week, I have made the first draft of a
web-site, of which you can see a page here:

In this process, I have found a few inconveniences requiring
workarounds, and I would like to air them here.
The main difficulty is the use of the 'paragraph' field type. For the
description of paintings, I need to include some formatting, so must
insert html tags. I discovered this is possible using
'disable-output-escaping' BUT tellico continues to add formatting based
on linefeeds etc. This means that it is necessary to insert the whole
description, even if it includes several paragraphs, in one line. This
makes editing inconvenient. I would like to be able to use
'disable-output-escaping' in a more radical version which ignores
whitespace. Then I can paste segments of formatted (and therefore
readable) html.
I will save my other, more minor, points for a separate post.
Thanks,
richard
