I'll take a look at the WorldCat API. It seems to need a subscription or
login from an educational institution, at first glance.
THe Library of Congress SRU source can be configured to return dewey,
though I've not done significant testing. If you have a book with an isbn,
you might be able to update from LOC and have the Dewey populate?
