Okay I tried it again with the full import and it did work correctly. I can only assume that a Linux Mint update fixed
my problem since that time.
Thanks for looking at the problem, even though it turned out to be nothing.

I tried it again on a new test database (Linux Mint Package on VirtualBox Windows)
It was an APPEND.
This time I tried it without importing all the fields, just a few. (Table used "|", for end of record "~")
Album, Artist, Genre, Label, Purchase Price, Track
It worked fine.
This is the amount of fields I transferred before:
"Album", "Artist", "Composers", "Release Year", "Length", "Genre", "Categorized", "Label", "No of Tracks", "ID", "Cat
Number", "Chorus", "Condition", "Conductor", "Country", "Cover Back", "Cover Front", "Cover", "Set#", "of Set",
"Extras", "Format", "Musicians", "Notes", "Orchestra", "Original Release Date", "Original Release Year", "Packaging",
"Purchase Price", "Producer", "Release Date", "Sound", "Studio", "Barcode", "Track Entries"
Unfortunately, I don't have time to try the full import, because it takes awhile to make and match all the fields.
