Hi

The info in the link worked perfectly

the solution was

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dominik-stadler/ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt upgrade

it appears that not having backports ppa was the problem

Thanks

Tony
