TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate

For files where I get the message TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate message, TagLib uses several seconds to read each of these files. When thousands of files are to be read this slows down the process significantly.
Could this somehow be fixed?
