Timeframe for taglib-2.0 or thoughts on this approach

Hi there,

I would like to use taglib to just read tags - but really need abstract IO ..  
What's the timeframe for taglib-2.0 - weeks? months? years?

I think I could probably "hack" it by making seek(), and readBuffer() virtual - 
and then overriding to do the IO I want, but that feels very hacky ..

Any thoughts?
