I'm not opposed to having more complete C bindings, but I am opposed to 
doing them one function at a time.  So, in this case, if you're willing 
to bring over full interfaces to the C side, that's fine and there's a 
good chance of them getting merged.  If you're just adding the couple of 
functions that your app needs, I think it makes more sense for that to 
stay in your app.
