thanks. Both crash at the same point:

Crashed Thread: 33 Chrome_InProcRendererThread

Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x00000001863acf08

Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 5 Trace/BPT trap: 5
Terminating Process: exc handler [1426]

where the backtrace of Thread 33 is:

Thread 33 Crashed:: Chrome_InProcRendererThread
0 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x1863acf08 pthread_jit_write_protect_np
1 QtWebEngineCore 0x114d3e7ec 0x10f2dc000 + 94775276

So, yes, this is a problem with QWebEngine, again. More specifically it
seems to be related to the JIT-compiler, which makes me think of a
permissions/entitlements problem, immediately.

I'll try something, but this may take some time.

Merely out of curiosity: If, instead, you install the x86 version of
RKWard on that machine, do you see anything different? (Note that you
will not be able to start the R backend, then, but you should be able
to skip over that with "Cancel". The interesting part, here, is whether
the welcome screen gets rendered.)

Regards
Thomas
