At which step exactly is this? (BTW, I forgot to mention step 1b): Drag
the RKWard icon to the Applications icon, and close the installer
window.)

The procedure works for me on both Mojave and Big Sur, although
occasionally, the Mac does seem to ignore that I help Ctrl while
clicking. Did you try again?
