The following forum message was posted by aloboaleu at http://sourceforge.net/projects/rkward/forums/forum/165574/topic/4101958:

ok I do:
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ rm -r /home/alobo/rkward-0.5.2
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ rm -r /home/alobo/rkward-0.5.0b
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward.bin
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward.rbackend

Then I install rkward 0.5.5.daily-3011-201102151750~karmic1 and start rkward.

I get the same warning, click OK and select new workspace. Then in the console:

> sessionInfo()
R version 2.12.1 (2010-12-16)
Platform: i486-pc-linux-gnu (32-bit)

locale:

LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8

LC_ADDRESS=en_US.UTF-8
[10] LC_TELEPHONE=en_US.UTF-8      LC_MEASUREMENT=en_US.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=en_US.UTF-8

attached base packages:
[1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base
Error during wrapup: could not find function ".rk.do.error"
> .libPaths()
[1] "/usr/local/lib/R/site-library" "/usr/lib/R/site-library"
"/usr/lib/R/library"
Error during wrapup: could not find function ".rk.do.error"

If I select an existing (but not useful) .RData, the rkward crashes.

Now on the console:
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward
/usr/bin/rkward
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward.bin
/usr/bin/rkward.bin
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$ which rkward.rbackend
/usr/bin/rkward.rbackend
alobo at alobo-laptop:~$

BTW, it works fine on my machine at work (ubuntu 10.04 LTS). Maybe I should
just upgrade here...

Agus
