Did you get around the compiling issue? The debian/ubuntu type of instructions
are here:

See if you can follow it. Try to find the corresponding packages for OpenSUSE.
Get the code from svn, it has some recent bug fixes. Let us know how things
work out. If you are having trouble with these instructions we can go step by
step and try to fix it.
