Initial Comment:
Maybe I am pedantic but I find only one way to close a tab which was hard to find- at the very right of all tabs there is a little red cross. However I think it should be possible to close a tab directly (right mouseclick for example) and in the file dialogue there could also be an option.

Changing this to a feature request. Seems reasonable, but is not going to
be part of 0.5.0b (to be released in a few minutes).
