many thanks for your detailed report. Some things you can do to help us
further (in no particular order):

- If possible, could you provide a self-contained example (i.e.
  including suitable input data) for triggering the crash?
- Could you try running the same thing in a "plain" R console session,
  outside of RKWard? Do you observe similar problems, there?
- RKWard version 0.6.1 is pretty old, and there have been significant
  changes, meanwhile, also with respect to graphics handling. We
  provide backports of the current version for all supported series of
  Ubuntu. Please try installing version 0.6.5 from
  https://launchpad.net/~rkward-devel/+archive/ubuntu/rkward-stable .
  Check if the problem persists, there.
