i use regular expressions a lot, and i often have a crowded workspace, with 
vast amounts of objects named like

  text.de.src1
  text.de.src2
  text.en.src1
  text.en.src2
  hyph.de.src1
  hyph.de.src2
  hyph.en.src1
  hyph.en.src2
  ...

it would be very helpful for me if i could write like "hyph.*src2" in the 
search field to quickly reduce the objects shown to just

  hyph.de.src2
  hyph.en.src2
