BTW, I just removed the "TODO" indicator on the JSS call for papers. While 
doing so, I noted that it reads:

"Papers can be sent directly to Pedro Valero-Mora (valerop at uv.es) or Ruben 
Ledesma (rdledesma at gmail.com) and they will follow the usual JSS reviewing 
procedure."

So just in case you sent the paper to editor at jstatsoft.org, instead (as I 
would have done), you might consider sending one of these people an additional 
mail...
