I did not have the time to test it in detail, yet. I noticed some minor focus 
problems (I had to explicitely click the window), but overall, it looks 
really good. Probably I'll look at it in more detail tomorrow.

Done.

I will try to make a new .tar.gz and .deb tomorrow, so everyone can have a 
look at the new syntax highlighting (currently anonymous CVS does not get 
synced, so only the few of us with access to developer CVS can see the 
changes).
One minor hold-up is that some internals have changed/will change in R 2.3.0, 
and rkward will not run without some adjustments. I think I've now 
successfully worked around the worst of those changes, but there are more 
problems which I will have to address.
If you have the choice, don't upgrade R, yet.
