What kdenlive was needed to be freed from the release chores, because they can bog down a project maintainer. But what it needs now is push and go.

Maintainers can choose any time to leave the coordinated release process, and
it has happened recently (kstars, okteta). At the same time they can decide to
join the group, and we have few examples as well.
I don't think that there is anything to decide about this: who wants to leave
or join can already do it, but no one can force the maintainers to do so.

If kdenlive maintainers want to stay, why should we force them to go out (if I
understand your point correctly)?
