It's not being pushed "for the sake of it".

I think the KF5 version gives the best possible user experience.

A little bit.

It uses the KPart from konsole. Konsole is frameworks based. Unless distros
work around it it doesn't load.

kdelibs4 KRatingPainter can't the breeze icons properly so everything
appears as 5 stars (it desaturates a grey icon). This is fixed in
frameworks.

It currently shares the same database as Baloo 5; that is going to change
databases which means anything using the old libs will stop working.
