as Trueg is perhaps MIA for a few more days and i'd like to see this move
forward sooner rather than later, has anyone figured out what commits removed
this class(es?) ...
they obviously need to be reverted, the build tested with them, etc.
(i think it is too much to ask for behavioural consistency; simply restoring
SIC and BIC is probably going to be enough to make it real)
