as said elsewhere, it only happens on the first build, subsequent build tries 
are fine. that seems to indicate that it is a missing dependency somewhere. 

It happens on all opensuse versions (11.0, 11.1, 11.2 and Factory), which is a 
wide variation of python versions (python qt is 4.7.2, sip 4.10.1).
