Moving 4.6 to git next Tuesday or Wednesday

I highly agree that we should wait until after the 4.6 release to shift over. 
Most devs *should* have at least setup git by now (but in reality there are 
many still on svn-only for sure), and the rest of Tom's reasons are completely 
valid IMO.
