... which I (or from a KDE POV) can do exactly nothing.

My most productive talk with Thomas Zander was a "patches welcome! :)" reply 
from him, so I gave up on this long ago.

If Trolltech wants to help KDE for Qt bugs that (more or less badly) afflict 
KDE users, good; but doing the "Don Quixote" (and fighting against windmills) 
is quite pointless.
