With regard to katepart there is a bug that often crashes in undo/redo 
because of wrong cursor positioning [1]. I've committed a fix in trunk 
yesterday, but it changes very much how the undo/redo saving of the cursor 
and selection is done. I hoped someone would really review, but I guess 
that's not really the case. So it's not committed in branch. Don't know 
whether it's really a showstopper :)

I'll be offline the whole next week as far as I can see. So if this should 
be committed to branch, someone else has to do it.
