No, we cannot reuse it. At least not without turning rekonq into konqueror...
But I'm having a better idea: graphics-dojo/websnap.

In the afternoon, (in a separate branch) I'll elaborate a homepage with these 
sort of informations:
- the "speed dial" (preview of 9 last sites)
- recently closed tabs
- preferred search engine search
