Just to clarify:
Mattermost is a real-time chat platform and open source alternative to
Slack.
Discourse is a forum and open source equivalent to Disqus.

So we might still embrace Haqoo later for direct communication.
If we want something more like discord, which is very well known and widely
used, I just learned about an open source alternative called revolt, but
haven't checked out out yet:
