  I could not find a way. I moved aside the `.so` installed by my distro and then I could use the locally-compiled one. I thin it's because of the prefix paths; `kscreen.so` takes precedence over `kcms/kscreen.so`. So hopefully this should be fixed once your distro ships Plasma 5.17 and the distro-provided version lives at `kcms/kscreen.so`.
