Kai, would it be possible to fade to say 25% instead of 0%, and fade the
remaining 25% a second before it is turned off? This way, the user still sees
that the display is not off yet, but still is urged to move the mouse or press
a key.

The entire discussion in this bug report looks like there is a misunderstanding
between "black" and "off".
