Big header on top on bottom a toolbar compare to the plasma standard panel and in the middle an vertical align element. For plymounth I would move in the middle the konqui-app-hardware-mascot https://share.kde.org/index.php/s/jXXooedZYlyUqkC with an rotating circle for the booting element. if the harddisk wil be scanned the konqui-app-hardware-mascot could play tetris and when you have to enter the key the mascot could be animated don't know. only an idea.

You mean the initramfs, right? :P A massive wallpaper will definitely slow down boot with slow disks in any case (question is: how much? has anyone measured that?), so it's probably best to not get too crazy with the Plymouth theme ^^
