I meanwhile noticed that the kcminputrc settings have the same problem (and additionally they are no written to KDE4 at all because of a bug in Kdelibs4SharedConfig::syncConfigGroup())

As it is closely related, I think I'll just update this review request, even though it has a ShipIt already.
