I'd be worried that it might inflate the size of the package too much. An alternative might just be putting them on OpenDesktop; I think some other people have done this as well, but it might be good in an 'official' capacity maybe. I'll bring it up though, see what everyone wants to do. If the legacy wallpapers wouldn't be too much I'd squeeze them into plasma-workspace-wallpapers.
