I have OpenRC instead of systemd, so no logind.

What do you mean by pretty broken? I can undo the change in startkde, and the
bug persists. Also, my system definitely has the ability of suspending, I've
suspended before with KDE4. It's certainly a problem that only occurs with
Plasma 5, but I don't know which component I should file the bug then.
