yeah, forget my G+ post for that. Your mention of updateActivationEnv made me look into it in more detail and I realized that there is a huge problem as startkde sets up the whole env but that's not passed on. It used to work back in the days when startkde started the dbus-daemon but that's no more the case.

We will even need more: whenever we change an environment variable it needs to be updated (again the example would be the cursors).
