IRC meeting summary

Hi all,

so, as a short summary (please add it if i forgot something)

A big point of the desktop workspace 4.10 will be porting plasmoids to qml:
* Sho is working on a taskbar replacement
* pager, the two weather applets and some smaller ones in kdeplasma-addons 
have been done as part of gsoc
* I am working on the notifications one (this comes from active and will be 
shared with it, demoing device specific ui poieces)
* kickoff is in the works as well

the biggest of them (taskbar, notifications, kickoff) will still need torough 
review/discussion.

Sebas will take a look in investigating problems in the user workflow of the 
default desktop containment.
And will also bring configuration ui both in plasma desktop and plasma active 
for ownCloud.

All of those should make the final experience more clean, eliminating the many 
little misbehaviours of qgraphicswidgets, so a big focus of 4.10 will be about 
perceived quality and elegance.
based on that I'll also be working with nuno in a little rewamp and general 
simplification of the default plasma theme.

There will also be the need to revise a bit the activity 
creation/switching/association workflow, the task is still unclaimed.


There is also the target of having a new big feature in the desktop for 4.10, 
that is actually two tangled in one:
SLC in the desktop, that means
* cleaning up the current applet codebase (interaction and fallbackcomponent 
usage)
* getting more applications using it
* write more plugins: set as wallpaper and social network ones

the last one triggers the dependency for another big feature: 
Centralized user accounts, needed for web services integration in SLC

work on those points will be done by Aaron, me but we still still need 
volunteers ;)

even tough is materal way post 4.10, if there is something really needed for 
plasma that is still not present in the protocol, we should speak up asap ;)


Plasma Active:
* The notification applet will become the same as Plasma desktop
* The work on ownCloud implementation will bring pa integration from day0
